Why It Pays To Listen Even When You Think They?re Nuts

My first published work became a bestseller as soon as it hit the bookshelves back in 1995 and it has been topping the lists ever since. Lucky you, some might say.

By and large the content has remained unchanged (apart from essential updating) and although ten years is a fair old run, what goes up must eventually come down.

So with that in mind I approached my publishing house with a suggestion for a commemorative 10th anniversary edition; new chapters, new cover, new cosmetics, new typesetting.

They loved the idea but balked at producing a new edition per se.

"Why?" I said, "It will start the ball rolling all over again."

"No it won't," they said, "It will kill the golden goose."

And so instead the publisher opted for a reprint dressed up as a new edition: new imprint, new chapters, new cosmetics, new typesetting ? but no new cover; only a subtle color change to preserve continuity.

Why Switch to All Natural Cosmetics?

The human skin wraps and protects our bodies.
It constitutes a living, dynamic tissue system.
It has the remarkable ability to absorb applied products,
partially or completely, into the bloodstream.
In fact, up to 60% of the products we use on our skin are absorbed and deposited into the circulatory system (Fairley, 2001).
For instance, the average woman absorbs 30 pounds of the ingredients contained in moisturizers over sixty years
(Dr.Hauschka).These new understandings of how the skin functions reveal concerns about the possible long term effects due to the combination of chemicals used in cosmetics, often termed the "chemical cocktail effect".

Several chemicals which are used in common, popular cosmetics are known irritants and carcinogens.
Concern stems from the knowledge that most of these ingredients are derived synthetically or from petroleum.
Avoiding these substances serve to decrease overall exposure...

Bare Mineral Makeup Is A Great Cosmetics Choice

I have spent he last several years searching for a makeup that I like. All of the brands I have seen and used, though, have serious drawbacks. I have naturally oily skin, so it does not take well to makeup products in the first place. Moreover, my pores clog easily, causing pimples and blemishes to mark my face on a regular basis. That means that if the makeup adds to my clogged pores, I have twice the number of marks on my face on a regular basis.

I hated not being able to find makeup to enhance my appearance. Recently, though, I discovered Bare Mineral makeup. This is different from any other makeup product I've ever tried. I love it.
Bare Mineral makeup, made by Bare Escentuals, is an excellent line that will satisfy you to no end. They offer the perfect combinations to make your skin look younger and more radiant every day.

Unlike other brands,...

Anti Aging Skin Care : "Pharmaceutical" Cosmetics

Copyright 2006 Danna Schneider

Have you ever heard the new buzz term "cosmeceuticals"?
This nifty term refers to the fusion of two areas, one which cultivates necessary medications which control our bodily processes internally, and the other, which manipulates our body from the outside, cosmetically improving our appearance.

You guessed it, the first is "pharmaceuticals" and the second is "cosmetics".
The joining of these two fields, both extremely lucrative, and arguably necessary, is called "cosmeceuticals", and this exciting new breed is causing a stir in the beauty community lately.

Although they have been united in this new genre of cosmetics, the two are very different when it comes to government and advisory board regulation.
Pharmaceuticals, at least in the US currently, are heavily regulated by the organization known as the FDA, while cosmetics are not government regulated.
